The government of Turkey has reportedly shuttered dozens of media outlets, as the country's president continues to *****down on opposition in the wake of an attempted coup.

The Associated Press reported that 45 newspapers and 16 TV stations have been shut down in addition to numerous radio stations, magazines and newswiresCNN Turkey (https://twitter.com/BenjaminHarvey/status/758376091962736640) also reported the closures.*

There were also unconfirmed reports that more than 30 journalists have been jailed.*



In the wake of a failed coup attempt by parts of the Turkish military, President Recep Erdogan has been going after any people or institutions that are **t entirely in his camp.
