One killed in Orakzai mine collapse

KALAYA: A labourer was killed and a**ther sustained injuries when a coal mine collapsed in lower part of Orakzai Agency, tribal sources said. They said the workers were busy in work at Al-Hussaini Coal Mine in Doli area when it caved in, trapping two labourers under the debris. They said that the rescuers and officials of the political administration launched rescue work soon after the incident. They said that the injured labourers, Khairullah and Abdus Salam, were shifted to a nearby hospital. However, Khairullah succumbed to his injuries at the facility. The deceased and wounded labourers were stated to be residents of Shangla district. It is worth mentioning here that more than 167 labourers had been killed and more than 300 others wounded in mines collapse incidents over the last few years.
