TOKYO: Tokyo stocks opened higher Monday, tracking a solid lead from Wall Street and with investors pinning their hopes on a fresh round of Bank of Japan stimulus later this week.
The benchmark Nikkei 225 index rose 0.17 percent, or 28.56 points, to open at 16,655.81, while the broader Topix index of all first-section shares gained 0.23 percent, or 3.08 points, to 1,330.59.
