NEW DELHI: India, visibly frustrated, has expressed distress and an**yance over observing a "Black Day" by Pakistan to commemorate the deaths of those who have killed in recent clashes in the Indian occupied Kashmir Valley.
On Thursday, India issued a strong recrimination, stating that the violence was "led by UN-designated terrorists" who get "encouragement and support" from Pakistan.
At least 40 people have died and more than 3,000 have been injured in the violence that erupted in held Kashmir after Burhan Wani, a 22-year-old freedom fighter, was killed by security forces on the night of July 8.
"Pakistan must refrain from its deplorable meddling in our internal affairs in any manner," read a statement issued by Indian Foreign Ministry.
The worst violence in six years in the occupied Kashmir has been fueled by anger over the indiscriminate use of pellets fired by security troops from **n-lethal *******, resulting in eye injuries for hundreds of people.
Large parts of held Kashmir remain under curfew with mobile phone services blocked; a temporary ban on local newspapers was withdrawn by the Mehbooba Mufti’s puppet government after much criticism.
Pakistan on Thursday said that state sponsored terrorism has been unleashed in the held valley to suppress the voice of Kashmiri people but it is our conviction that through this way the Indian side will **t be able to legalize its control on the territory.
