Texas native Matthew McConaughey, who will be teaching a class this fall at a University in Texas, is making news for several reasons. Having expressed his desire to work in HBO’s TV ******, True Detective again, the actor is currently promoting a new film with Charlize Theron.
However, its McConaughey’s villai**us role in The Dark Tower that has the interwebs buzzing. The 46-year-old actor, seen shooting around New York in his Dark Tower grab, recently took to Twitter and shared a cryptic new poster from the upcoming project. The film, an adaptation of Stephen King’s **vels, will see the Academy Award winning star taking on a darker character. Speaking about his character, McConaughey **ted recently: “Well, he is a man, actually. They wanted to go very human and grounded with this. Obviously, there are mythical proportions of good and evil in Walter. But we didn’t want to go overly fantastic. That would drop the humanity. So Walter, for me, is a man who exposes hypocrisies.”
Aware that his role is one of a villain, McConaughey **ted further: “You k**w, he’s **t literally the Devil, but I sure as hell think about him like the Devil. I think like the Devil would. There’s a great Black Sabbath line that fits the guy very well. ‘Follow me **w / and you will **t regret / leaving the life you led / before we met’.”
The Dark Tower also features Idris Elba as Gunslinger and is slated to release early next year.
