LAHORE: Five persons including three children were killed and seven others injured in three incidents of roof and wall collapses due to heavy rain in the provincial metropolis on Sunday.
Four children were going home from a seminary when the wall of a house fell over them on the Bund Road. The Rescue 1122 staff pulled them out of the debris, but Hamza, Umer and Mehak (all five to 10 years old) died instantly while Affaq, 6, was injured and shifted to the Jinnah Hospital.
Meanwhile, a man, 35, died and his wife was injured when the roof of their house collapsed near Shama, Ichhra. The deceased was identified as Yousaf, son of Kala Khan. The woman was identified as Naila.
Ali, 20, died and five others received injuries when the roof of a house collapsed on the Wahdat Road, Multan Chungi. The Rescue 1122 staff shifted the injured to hospital. The injured were identified as Iqbal, Akhtar, Arshad, Munir and Taimoor. The Punjab chief minister has taken a **tice of the incidents.
