PML-N govt free from corruption: Shahbaz

LAHORE: Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif has said that the Pakistan Muslim Leage-Nawaz (PML-N) government is free from corruption and even the opposition can**t point its finger at it in this regard. He said that those people were very lucky who were provided an opportunity of public service by Allah Almighty.



Malik Riaz an**unces Rs7.5m for cricket team

ISLAMABAD: Chief of Bahria Town Malik Riaz Sunday an**unced 50,000 pound sterling (Rs7.5m) for the Pakistani team on winning the Test match at the historical Lord’s Cricket Ground on Sunday. Malik Riaz remained at the Lord’s for several hours and after victory an**unced 50,000 pound sterling for the Pakistani team.



State minister calls on Punjab CM

LAHORE: Minister of State for Petroleum Jam Kamal called on Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif.According to a handout issued here Sunday, speaking on the occasion, the chief minister said that the PML-N government was taking all-out steps for the progress of the country and prosperity of the people and development projects of billions of rupees were being completed speedily in a transparent manner. He said that improving situation in Pakistan was also being ack**wledged by international institutions. Shahbaz Sharif said that some political elements once again were out to stop the journey to progress of the country. He said the sit-ins of these defeated elements failed and their designs would **t be fulfilled in future as well. He said that ** hurdle would be tolerated in the process of development of the country. PHP arrests 23 outlaws

LAHORE: The Punjab Highway Patrol arrested 23 criminals including 12 proclaimed offenders. PHP teams arrested 12 proclaimed offenders who were later identified as Abdul Rauf Khan, M Yasin, Husnain Amir Maovia, Abdul Rasheed, M Ibrahim, Mukhtar Hussain, Ghulam Akbar, Mudasir Ashfaq, Asif, Karim Baksh, Haq Nawaz, Jafir and M Ali.

The PHP teams arrested 11 criminals who were identified as M Khawar, M Kashif, Nasir, Mudassar, Irfan, M Nadeem, Zahoor Ahmad, Amjid, Ramzan, M Khalid and Ashraf and recovered 300-gram charas, 34-litre liquor and seven pistols from their possession. The PHP team reunited five children Waqas, Shahid Nawaz, Saeedur Rehman, Shafeequr Rehman and Mukhtar Ahmad with their families. The PHP team recovered fake currency from M Iqbal, a resident of Shorkot, District Jhang.



Burney hails PM’s steps for stranded Pakistanisin Turkey

KARACHI: Ansar Burney Trust International Chairman Ansar Burney advocate has appreciated and thanked Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif for issuing immediate directions to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and PIA to take urgent measures for the safe return of 400 Pakistanis stranded at Turkish airports, says a press release on Sunday. He said the prime minister directed the Foreign Ministry and PIA that exclusive flights be arranged for the return of Pakistani citizens who were stuck in the Turkey following an unsuccessful coup attempt in the country overnight. He also appreciated the efforts of Pakistan Embassy in Ankara and Consulate in Istanbul.
