One of the nice surprise introductions at WWDC was Swift Playgrounds (http://mashable.com/2016/06/13/apple-swift-playground/), a new app coming to the iPad and iOS 10 that will help teach kids (or anyone, really) how to code with Swift (http://mashable.com/category/swift/).*
Apple introduced Swift at WWDC back in 2014 (http://mashable.com/2014/06/03/developer-reactions-wwdc/). A more modern successor to Objective-C (the language most commonly used to code iOS and Mac apps), Swift has had tremendous momentum. There are more than 100,000 Swift apps and it’s been called fastest-growing (http://devproconnections.com/development/swift-opens-so-does-demand-apples-new-language) computer language in history.*

Demand for Swift has only increased since the language was open-sourced (http://mashable.com/2015/12/03/apple-swift-open-source-2/) back in December.* Read more...
