ISLAMABAD: The Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) senior leader Senator Aitzaz Ahsan on Wednesday said members of Move on Pakistan (MOP) party should be arrested and charged with treason.
Speaking to reporters outside the Supreme Court premises, the PPP leader asked Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan to register a case under Article 6 of the Constitution against the chief of Move on Pakistan party who is pleading for imposing martial law and forming a government of tech**crats.
He said that Director General of Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) Lt Gen Asim Bajwa in a tweet had distanced the Pakistan Army from such a campaign.
The posters seeking military coup were displayed in Lahore, Karachi and Rawalpindi as well as in some cantonment areas by Move on Pakistan, a largely unk**wn political party, reportedly founded in 2013.
The PPP leader asked that why ** action had been taken against those responsible for putting up those posters. He said whenever the opposition talks about PanamaLeaks or corruption it is portrayed as a threat to democracy. “It seems the posters are a ploy to put pressure on the opposition and to create an atmosphere of uncertainty,” he said.
