PAKPATTAN: Three proclaimed offenders (POs) escaped with the connivance of their accomplices on Wednesday.
Police on a tip-off raided Chak 10/EB to arrest PO Nadeem but he escaped with the help of accused Aslam.
Police reached Chak 80/D to capture PO Rab Nawaz but he was alerted by accused Afzal and escaped.
Police raided Pir Ghani to arrest PO Ali Ahmad but he escaped with the help of accused Muhammad Hussain.
Police have registered cases.
VALUABLES TAKEN AWAY: Thieves took away valuables on Wednesday.
Accused Rasheed and his accomplice stole wheat and 48 bags of fertilizer worth Rs 207,000 from the outhouse of Ali Hussain of Chak 30/KB.
Jamil Hussain of Khayaban-e-Fareed, Pakpattan, parked his motorbike outside his house and when he came back he found it missing.
Police have registered cases.
FAKE CHEQUE CASES: Police booked two people on charges of issuing fake cheques.
Accused Muhammad Mohsin had gotten Rs 200,000 loan from Sarmad of Sahiwal Road, Pakpattan and gave him a cheque that bounced.
Accused Mirza Shahid had taken a loan of Rs 100,000 from Tahira Parveen and issued her a cheque that disho**ured.
Police have registered cases.
HOMEOWNERS BOOKED: Police booked two homeowners on charges of renting out their houses without informing police.
Police booked Muhammad Rafiq and Shehryar of Bhutta ** 2, Arifwala as Rafique rented out his house to Shehryar without inform police.
RAPE BID: A rape bid was foiled on Wednesday.
Reportedly, (Y) of Chak 139/EB and her children were sleeping at her house when accused Tariq and his two accomplices entered and took her to a room. When she raised a hue and cry, the accused fled.
Police have registered case.
LIQUOR SEIZED: Police arrested drug peddlers and seized liquor on Wednesday.
Police arrested accused Muhammad Sharif of Chak 68/EB with 12 litre liquor, accused Javed of Malka Hans with 7 litre liquor, accused Atif Saleem of Bonga Hayat with 80 gram charas.
Police have registered cases.
Excessive loadshedding irks locals

PAKPATTAN: Locals are braving over 18 hours unscheduled power loadshedding in the city and its adjoining areas.
Several citizens fainted owing to loadshedding and hot weather. The locals urged the higher authorities to look into the matter.
