PESHAWAR: Chief Minister Pervez Khattak will formally inaugurate the construction work on the Swat Expressway on August 11.This was decided at a meeting chaired by him here on Wednesday, said an official handout.
Adviser to Chief Minister on Communication Akbar Ayub, Chief Secretary Amjad Ali Khan, Director General Frontier Works Organisation (FWO) Major General Muhammad Afzal, administrative secretaries and other concerned attended the meeting.
The meeting negotiated the cost of Swat Expressway, the time frame, the mode of payment, the process of construction work simultaneously at different spots on the Expressway and the subsidy, etc.
It made a number of decisions. The provincial government would pay a sum ofRs11.5 billion for the project to the FWO. The Rs6 billion amount would be given to the FWO before the end of this month and the remaining Rs5.5 billion would be shown in the next Annual Development Programme (ADP) for onward release to the FWO. Karnal Sher Khan Interchange on the M1 will be the venue of the inaugural ceremony where a public gathering will be held.
