Ahsan Khan’s character remains integral to Udaari. Here’s why…
Ever since the pilot episode of drama ****** Udaari made its way to the airwaves, viewers have been hooked, **t just because of its unique, courageous storyline but also because of the brilliant performances of the actors involved.
Aside from tackling the sensitive and taboo theme of child ***ual abuse, Udaari also works because of how it addresses other subjects such as music, women empowerment, class difference and so on.
While seasoned actor Bushra Ansari continues to stand out because of her remarkable range as an actor (which is palpable in the way she embodies the character of Sheedan), the presence of Ahsan Khan, chief antagonist, can**t be dismissed or denied. His portrayal of the pedophile Imtiaz (who pretends to be a good man and marries a widow with a young daughter only to abuse that child at a later opportunity) is full of conviction and has made both the ****** and Khan a talking point with drama buffs, everywhere. Though his character is deeply disturbing on several levels, it showcases Khan’s versatility as an actor and is a bold move on part of the star who is k**wn for romantic roles.

In the last episode, which aired Sunday, Sajjo (Samiya Mumtaz) murders husband Imtiaz (Ahsan Khan) after finding out about his abusive behaviour towards her daughter.
However, we are still **t sure if Imtiaz will stay dead. Though Sajjo runs away to the city, without Khan’s evil presence, Udaari will ** longer have the kind of conflict that made it stand out. Plus the show is responsible for generating a conversation on a topic that is usually shoved under the rug. In that sense, the show has an important role to play.
When Instep spoke to the actor about it, Khan refused to say anything on the subject. **netheless, our view is that this is **t Imtiaz’s end. Our bet is that he will come back from the dead to haunt his tortured family. How this story moves forward, with or without him, time and the audience will tell.
