Bollywood superstars Shah Rukh Khan and Akshay Kumar have bagged spots on Forbes’ annual list of 100 highest paid celebrities in the world, circa 2016.
While American singer Taylor Swift topped the list with an earning of 170 million dollars, Khan is ranked at number 86 on the list with earnings of 33 million dollars and Kumar secured the 94th position with 31.5 million dollars.
Khan shares the 86th spot with Iron Man star Robert Downey Jr, Ghostbusters actress Melissa McCarthy, basketball player James Harden among others.
According to Forbes, “the Fan star continues to rule Bollywood’s box ****** with lead roles in hit films and also earns multi-million dollars upfront fees and a cut of the back end in films like Dilwale. He also cashes in on endorsement deals for dozens of brands most Americans have likely never heard of.”
On the other hand, Kumar shares his position on number 94 with Brad Pitt and magician team Penn & Teller. “[He] banked top rupee for three hit films (Brothers, Singh Is Bliing and Airlift) in our scoring period,” stated Forbes about the 48-year-old actor. It was also **ted that Kumar endorses products ranging from motorcycles to a gold loan company and is one of Bollywood’s busiest leading men.
