LAHORE: The Punjab Horticulture Authority (PHA) ******* on Monday all the banners put up on The Mall inscribed with an invitation to Chief of Army Staff General Raheel Sharif to step in and stage a coup in the country. Also, the authority is going to proceed legally against those responsible.

Talking to The News on Monday evening, Director General PHA Mian Shakeel confirmed that the authority had ******* all such banners from The Mall.

To a question, the DG said the PHA didn’t receive any special instructions for removing such banners from any quarter in this regard. It acted as per its SOPs. “It was a routine matter. We have also ******* all other banners related to Eid greetings etc. from The Mall,” he said.
He said the authority would submit a challan in the court of law against all those persons displaying such banners. The court will summon those people if needed, he added. He said the PHA will submit a report in the court and then court will decide whether to summon such people or **t. **rmally court fined such law breakers.

To a**ther question, the DG said he doesn’t k**w who was behind such banners but added that a party ‘Move on Pakistan’ was behind displaying such banners.

Besides Lahore, such banners were also displayed in other cities including Rawalpindi/Islamabad, Faisalabad, etc. Sources revealed that three people each in Karachi, Islamabad and Lahore have been identified who are running a social media campaign, inviting the COAS to take over and impose the martial law. These people have hired the staff to run their social media campaign, they **ted.

Talking to this correspondent, sources in the army said they have **thing to do with this campaign. They said the PHA and other department concerned did well in removing such banners. Some people are using the popularity of the COAS for their own fame. They further said the COAS is already a popular figure in the country and he doesn’t need such gimmicks.
