Hearing of case against Pervez Musharraf today
ISLAMABAD: The Special Court will resume the hearing of treason case against former president Pervez Musharraf today (Tuesday) for violating and subverting the Constitution by proclaiming emergency in the country on **vember 3, 2007.The three-member court, headed by Justice Mazhar Alam Miankhel, comprises Justice Tahira Safdar and Justice Yawar Ali will hear the case.It may be mentioned that on last hearing of the case held on May 11, the Special Court had directed to declare Pervez Musharraf an absconder.

He said this while inspecting pace of work on the Head Sulemanki remodeling project at Sutlej River near Pakistan-India border on Monday morning. He directed the ******rs concerned to ensure use of quality material in the project. He said that the project was significant for the surrounding areas. Provincial Irrigation Secretary Saif Anjum, Shebo of the Sy**-Hydro Company and engineers of the Nespak briefed the chief minister about total cost and other aspects of the project. OKARA: Three people were killed and two others injured when their car rammed into a tractor-trolley at Renala Khurd Bypass on Monday morning. Muhammad Ali, Muhammad Zafar, Muhammad Hussain, Muhammad Ashraf and Muhammad Naeem were going to Lahore from Bahawalnagar when their car rammed into a tractor-trolley. As a result, Muhammad Ali, Zafar and Muhammad Hussain were killed on the spot while Naeem and Ashraf were seriously injured. The injured car riders were shifted to a hospital. Renala Khurd City police have impounded the vehicle and registered a case.
Traders block road against Gepco

HAFIZABAD: Traders and shopkeepers of Sabzi Mandi staged a demonstration against Gepco here on Monday. They also blocked Kolo Road to register their protest against the Gepco. They said that the Sabzi Mandi had been without electricity for the last 15 days. They said that they had repeatedly contacted the Gepco officials for restoration of power supply but to ** avail. The traders said that they had been facing a number of problems due to power suspension. The protesters have demanded the Gepco chief order the officials to restore power supply to the market.
PRSP establishes mobile health unit

TOBA TEK SINGH: Punjab Rural Support Programme (PRSP) Project Director Amanullah Khan Monday said the PRSP had established a mobile health unit at Toba Tek Singh. The unit would provide health care facilities to rural communities of seven villages of tehsils Pirmahal and Kamalia by establishing medical camps from December 2015 successfully. Girl dies in accident

JARANWALA: A girl was killed in a road accident near a flour mill on Faisalabad Road on Monday. Reportedly, Muhammad Akram Rehmani of Mohallah Altaf Park was going to Faisalabad with his sister on a motorcycle. When they reached near the flour mill, Chak 53/GB his sister fell down when he crossed a nasty bump and suffered critical injuries and died after few minutes. Reportedly, this bump caused several accidents in the past.

MULTAN: A well k**wn Seraiki nationalist leader Syed Hassan Raza Bokhari died in a hospital on Monday. He had received head injuries in a road accident during Eid days.Bokhari started his career as a bank ******r and he played active role on the forum of Seraiki Lok Sanjh.He belonged radical left workers’ group and joined the Pakistan Saraiki Party and he was elected as senior vice president. He remained in the PSP until his death. He was an honest, committed and die-hard political worker who struggled for the rights of down trodden classes. His funeral was held on Monday.

extended in mega corruption case
QUETTA: An Accountability Court on Monday handed over former secretary finance Balochistan Mushtaq Raisanai and former accountant Khaliqabad Nadeem Iqbal to NAB custody for a**ther 15 day in the mega corruption case. The two were produced in the court in the case. Raisani’s lawyer Kamran Murtaza argued that there is remand after remand of his client without any progress and that his client was also being threatened. NAB lawyer Rashid Zab said that further investigations from Mushtaq were necessary because he has divulged names of additional people over which he has to be interrogated. The court adjourned the hearing till July 25.
Two terrorists killed in Bajaur blast
KHAR: Two terrorists were killed in an explosion while installing a roadside bomb on Monday. Sources said two terrorists of a banned outfit were engaged in installing a bomb by roadside in Dher Ke area of Bajaur Agency aimed at a terror bid when the bomb suddenly went off with a big bang. As a result of explosion, both the terrorists were killed on the spot and their bodies split into several pieces. The security forces cordoned off the area after the incident and started a search operation for the militants.
17,000 army men to be
deployed during AJK polls
MUZAFFARABAD: More than 17,000 army men would be deployed at key places during the upcoming general elections in Azad Kashmir, scheduled to be held on July 21. AJK Election Commission spokesman said Frontier Constabulary, Frontier Corps and Punjab Constabulary would also assist the army in all 41 constituencies to ensure free, fair and transparent polling in a peaceful atmosphere. He said the ballot-papers were being printed under the supervision of Pakistan Army in the Printing Corporation of Pakistan Press, Islamabad, and would be handed over to the returning ******rs on Friday.

Customs seizes 170 cellphones at airport

PESHAWAR: The Customs authorities have seized 170 cellphones of different brands from a passenger at the Bacha Khan International Airport. A press release said the passenger arriving from Dubai by PK-284 was stopped and questioned. His baggage was scanned. A total of 170 cellphones were recovered from it. Since the import of cellular phones is restricted and is subject to Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA)’s authorisation, which was **t available with the passenger. The cellphones having the market value of Rs10 million were seized, the release added.
