James Cameron, one of the world’s most distinguished filmmakers and the man behind several iconic ****** such as Terminator 2: Judgment Day, Titanic and Avatar recently turned film critic when he came out against J.J Abrams’ revamped Star Wars universe. The veteran director, who has been instrumental in advancing tech**logy and the way films are produced, feels that Star Wars: The Force Awakens failed to match up its predecessors.
According to one interview, Cameron thought the film lacked imagination and was inferior when compared to the films that were spearheaded by George Lucas.
“I have to say that I felt that George’s [Lucas] group of six films had more in**vative visual imagination, and this film was more a retrenchment to things you had seen before and characters you had seen before.”
Meanwhile Cameron’s own Avatar sequels have been pushed ahead since he **w wants to make four sequels to the original instead of two. Rumours suggest that the film will come out in 2018 instead of 2017. Sam Worthington, Zoe Saldana and Sigourney Weaver will return for the sequels while Cameron shoots all the films back-to-back. Time will tell if fans still care about the Avatar world as much as Cameron.
