BIRMINGHAM: **bel Peace Prize winner Malala Yousafzai has said that the state should step up and take responsibility of Edhi Foundation.
“Though she has recommended him for **bel recognition but any award for late Abdul Sattar Edhi would **t justify his contributions to humanity,” she said.
The entire nation stands with the bereaved family of late Edhi, she said adding that it is us who need to take Edhi’s mission forward and work towards making this country a better place.
Earlier in a statement issued by Malala Fund on behalf of Malala Yousafzai, she quoted as saying Abdul Star Edhi passed away but his legacyof serving humanity will never die. His heroic work helping young and old inspired me from an early age.
Edhi's humble, selfless ways and tireless efforts should inspire us all. We should learn from him that it is our duty to help those most in need.
“My prayers go out to the family of Edhi and expecially his wife, Bilquis, for standing strong in his mission,” Malala said in the statement.
Edhi helped humanity regardless of anyone's colour, gender, background, religion. Edhi changed lives and made history. Let’s remember his legacy and ho**ur him by continuing his mission, read the statement.
