KARACHI: The Hindu community in the country Saturday pledged to follow the footsteps of legendary social worker late Abdul Sattar Edhi to serve humanity.
Pakistan Hindu Council patron in chief and Member of National Assembly Dr Ramesh Kumar Vankwani expressed grief on the sad demise of re**wned philanthropist Abdul Sattar Edhi and said the Hindu community would pay him homage and respect would follow his footsteps to serve the humanity.
In a condolence message Dr Ramesh paid rich tribute to the great services of late Edhi saying that Edhi had always actively participated in the annual mass wedding ceremonies organized by Pakistan Hindu Council in the ho**ur of poor Hindu couples.
Recently a Pakistan Hindu Council delegation had also visited him to enquire about his health, he said.
He appealed that Hindu community may carry out special prayers for the pardon of the departed soul.
