ISLAMABAD: The Islamabad High Court Bar Association (IHCBA) here on Saturday reiterated its demand for accountability of judicial institutions.
The IHCBA expressed its resentment over delay in adjudication of a matter pending before the Supreme Court of Pakistan regarding illegal appointments in Islamabad High Court (IHC). The IHCBA also demanded that the transfer of judges should be in accordance with rotation policy. They warned that if their demands were **t acceded to, they will lock the courts in the light of resolutions passed by bar councils.
IHCBA General Secretary Waqas Malik with other members of the bar while addressing a press conference demanded of the apex court that it should expedite the adjudication of IHC illegal appointment case. Advocate Malik said that four persons of a single family were appointed in the IHC without any advertisement.
Regarding IHC officials working on deputation, IHC administration extended their deputation period despite the fact that apex Supreme Court had reserved judgment in their matter.
