PESHAWAR/SINDH: Security alert was raised in Peshawar and Sindh on the occasion of Jumat-ul-Wida in the country.

Police authorities stated that foolproof security measures had been taken to ensure the safety of people at mosques. Police has also been ordered to patrol the streets more and be on the lookout for any suspicious activity.

Police authorities further disclosed that two thousand police officials have been stationed at mosques and sensitive locations throughout the city.

Meanwhile, Sindh Home Minister Suhail Anwar Siyal also alerted police across the province to stay vigilant on the occasion of Jumat-ul-Wida. Siyal said that at the time of Friday prayers, Iftar and Tarwaih prayers, the security plan would be implemented strictly. I.G.Sindh, AIGs, DIGs and SSPs were told to remain alert by the provincial Home Minister.

Police have also been alerted regarding the entry and exit points of the city. Also, police officials have also been stationed at places that are frequented by the public.

The last Friday of Ramazan or Jumat-ul-Wida, is an important religious day for Muslims throughout the world. Since it is the last Friday of the holy month, prayers for forgiveness are offered by the devout for forgiveness of their sins and acceptance of their wishes.
