Ayyan case:
ISLAMABAD: The Supreme Court while declaring the contempt of court application maintainable submitted by model Ayyan Ali against interior ministry issued Thursday **tices to interior secretary, additional secretary interior, FBR chairman and DG Immigration, Karachi Airport.
A three-member bench headed by Justice Sh Amjad Saeed conducted the hearing. The counsel of Ayyan Sardar Latif Khosa informed the court that officials of interior ministry were continuously violating the law.
Prosecutor Rana Waqar said Ayyan’s plea against the Sindh High Court’s verdict was **t maintainable and this is up to the court it should hear the contempt of court case or **t.
Justice Dost Muhammad remarked that if contempt of court is **t proved then application will be dismissed. Khosa said if Pervaiz Musharraf can go to abroad why can’t Ayyan.
Advocate Shafqat Munir Malik the counsel of widow of Custom ******r Ijaz Muhammad Chaudhry informed the court that Ayyan was arrested from Islamabad’s Benazir Bhutto International Airport on March 14 carrying $500,000, adding that the money recovered from the model was in the custody of Custom inspector Ijaz Chaudhry. Munir Malik told the court that two unidentified gunmen broke into the house of inspector Chaudhry’s house and fired multiple shots at him. He was rushed to the Benazir Bhutto Hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries.
Justice Tariq Masood asked the deceased widow that did the magistrate issue arrest warrant for Ayyan in the murder case. The widow’s counsel informed the court that magistrate did **t issue the arrest warrants.
He informed the court that FIR was registered with Waris Khan Police Station, adding that statement was also recorded in this regard but the police did **t take any action against the culprit.After hearing the prosecutor and the counsel of Ayyan, the Supreme Court adjourned the hearing till after the Eid holidays.
