KARACHI: The State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) on Thursday extended the last date up to August 15 for banks to clear currency authentication machines from the central bank.
A **tification issued by the central bank said that the banks had requested for extension in time for completion of machine selection process, including the demo at the SBP.
The central bank said that the deadline would also be applicable for the banks having arrangements with other banks to get their cash processed.
Earlier, the central bank warned the banks of legal action in case currency authentication machines were **t clarified by June 30.
The State Bank of Pakistan in August 2015 launched "Currency Management Strategy" with the objectives of disbursing authenticated cash through machines installed by the commercial banks.
