Airbnb is **t feeling much hometown pride these days.

The short-term property rental company is suing San Francisco in an effort to block a new law which would require hosts to register with the city. **

The law, which was passed unanimously (http://www.sfgate.com/politics/article/Supervisors-**-unregistered-hosts-on-short-term-7969444.php) by the*Board of Supervisors in June, requires short-term rental companies to verify that their users are registered with the city, and to remove listings that are **t. Companies that disregard the law could face fines of up to $1000 (http://www.latimes.com/business/tech**logy/la-fi-tn-airbnb-sues-sf-20160627-snap-story.html) per illegal listing, per day. They could also face misdemea**r charges.*

That means Airbnb could be forced to write checks if it doesn't adequately enforce the registration requirement. Read more... (http://mashable.com/2016/06/28/airbnb-sf-law/?utm_campaign=Mash-Prod-RSS-Feedburner-All-Partial&utm_cid=Mash-Prod-RSS-Feedburner-All-Partial)
