A milkman was shot dead and a passerby injured over a monetary dispute in Batapur police limits on Monday.
Milkman Muhammad Azeem of Jallo Pind had a monetary dispute with milkman Naveed. On the day of the incident, they exchanged harsh words which led Naveed and his seven accomplices to open fire. As a result, Azeem was killed in the firing and passerby Faraz injured. Batapur SHO said police arrested main accused Naveed.
BURNT: Valuables worth hundreds of thousands of rupees were gutted in a fire in a shop in the **rth Cantt police limits. Rescue officials said the fire broke out in a shop near Askari X. Rescue officials reached at the spot and controlled the fire.
BODY FOUND: A 50-year-old unidentified man was found dead in the Tibbi City police limits. A passerby informed the police about a man lying unconscious. Police reached the spot and shifted the man to a nearby hospital where the doctors pro**unced him as brought dead.
BOY KILLED: A teenage boy was killed in a road accident in Misri Shah. Police said Arfan was going on a bike when he was hit by a Mazda. He was shifted to nearby hospital where the doctors pro**unced him as brought dead.
arrested: Anti-Corruption Establishment (ACE), Lahore Region, on Monday claimed to have arrested a clerk at DCO ******, Lahore while taking bribe from a complainant.
According to an ACE official, the accused identified as Muhammad Latif was caught red-handed while taking Rs5,000 from a complainant named Muhammad Rashid. Rashid wanted an **C of declaration for his newspaper. The accused, according to the ACE official, had already taken Rs30,000 from Rashid as bribe.
profiteers: City District Government Lahore (CDGL) continued its campaign against price hike and arrested 175 profiteers out of which 66 were sent to jail Monday. CDGL officials said price control magistrates carried out raids at 1195 places and imposed a fine of Rs 82,000 on profiteers besides arresting them.
