PESHAWAR: A number of private sector Board of Directors members of the Pakhtunkhwa Energy Development Organization (PEDO) have said they have neither resigned **r do they have any such intention.
“Except for former chairman of the board Pakhtun-khwa Energy Development Organisation (PEDO) Shakil Durrani, neither any other board member submitted resignation to the competent authority **r do they intend to quit the board membership,” said an official statement.
In a response to the statement of ex-chairman of PEDO’s Board of Directors Shakil Durrani about resignation of all professional and technical directors on the board, a number of private sector Board members issued a denial.
The statement was issued jointly by the PEDO’s BoD members, including Iskander Khan, Rohail Muhammad, Senator Nauman Wazir, President of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chamber of Commerce and Industry Zulfiqar Ali Khan and Peshawar Electric Supply Company Chief Executive ******r Anwarul Haq.
Besides these members, there are three other provincial government secretaries on the board as well. All of them have shown confidence in the policies of the government and management of PEDO & CEO, said the communiqué.
The organisation had started a number of initiatives and these needed to be supported by the board, the statement quoted the members as saying. They specifically mentioned the recent encouraging response from the private sector in the seven advertised sites and micro hydel program.
“Collaboration with the Asian Development Bank and their support in funding hydel projects is also a sign of confidence in the policies of the government and management of PEDO,” read the statement.
The board members said full support should be extended to the CEO and management of the organisation. “Any issues faced during the process would need to be addressed together as a team and the recent statement of the ex-chairman of the board would **t help this objective,” the statement concluded.
