Police clueless about Owais

KARACHI: The kidnapped son of Sindh High Court (SHC) Chief Justice could **t be recovered on Monday more than 72 hours after his kidnapping.

The case in this regard has been registered. The lawyers’ community of Karachi staged a strong protest against the kidnapping and **n-recovery of Owais Ali Shah.

Meanwhile, Inspector General of Police (IGP), Sindh, Allah Di** Khawaja, has said that ** phone call or message had been received from the kidnappers regarding the abduction of Owais Ali Shah. He said he had asked for help from intelligence agencies to track down Owais Shah.

“The kidnapping of Owais Ali Shah is a high-profile case. We have sought the help of intelligence agencies,” Khawaja said while addressing a ceremony in Karachi.He said that ** telephonic call or any demand had yet been made by the kidnappers.

The IG Sindh further said that Owais Ali Shah was abducted from a busy area of the city.He said an investigation into the matter was under way as all the officials concerned had been contacted in this regard.

He said the police and law enforcement agencies were trying hard to recover the victim as several suspects had been taken into custody from different localities.

A D Khawaja revealed that the incident happened at 2:30pm but the family informed the police at 9.15pm. The ******r also criticised the local people for **t filing complaints over continuous criminal activities in the metropolis.

On June 20, SHC CJ’s son Awais Ali Shah went missing from Clifton shopping mall while his mobile phone had been switched off since the after**on.

Following the incident ******rs of Special Security Unit along with police started snap checking in the metropolis and at all its entry and exit points while security was also tightened at Super Highway and National Highway.

Investigation revealed that Awais Ali Shah was abducted after full recce as the kidnappers in a white car with SP 0586 number started following him from Sindh High Court (SHC) till shopping mall in Clifton.

An eight-member investigation team of police was also formed to probe the matter. The security personnel had recovered the mobile data of SHC CJ’s son for further process.

Two eye witnesses had also recorded their statements in this regard according to which four masked armed men got down from a white car and allegedly took Awais with them.
