‘Aaj Shahzeb Khanzada Kay Sath’ on Tuesday
KARACHI: There was a consensus on the Ramazan moon in all the four provinces, and so Ramazan begins in the country on the same day, said Shahzeb Khanzada on Geo News programme, ‘Aaj Shahzeb Khanzada Kay Sath’, on Monday.
He said that though there is still the question whether Eid will also be celebrated on the same day or **t because there has **t been an understanding on this between Mufti Muneeb-ur-Rehman and Mufti Shahabuddin.
Shahzeb said that Mufti Shahabuddin has criticized the Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee and questioned its constitutional position. Commenting on the situation in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Shahzeb Khanzada said that a front against the Chief Minister, Pervez Khattak, is in the making within the Tehreek-e-Insaf. Some members of the party have revolted against him, and some serious allegations are being leveled against the chief minister.
He said that the Tehreek-e-Insaf, which was supposed to become a role model for the country, is **w facing a crisis of its own. Five MNAs of the Tehreek-e-Insaf, while forming a front against Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Pervez Khattak, have said that the chief minister himself is the main stumbling block to bringing about a change in the province. These MNAs have alleged that the chief minister is involved in corruption and that he is conspiring against Imran Khan.
Shahzeb Khanzada said that Imran Khan was supposed to make Khyber Pakhtunkhwa an ideal province, but the province is becoming a unique case in which PTI MNAs are issuing statements against their own party’s chief minister.
He said that demands for accountability in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa are being made, but the province has **t had an accountability commissioner in the last four months. A former director-general of Ehtesab Commission has already said that the ****** of the chief minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa was used for illegal steps in the mining case.
Shahzeb Khanzada said that the Tehreek-e-Insaf does **t only have problems in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa but that the party in Karachi is also going through a sort of a crisis. The party did very well in the election of 2013, but **w its graph is sliding downwards.
In a different segment of the programme, Shahzeb Khanzada, while commenting on the rising influence of India, said that Pakistan is becoming isolated due to the unconventional foreign policy of Modi’s regime. India is making inroads into the countries which are friendly to Pakistan while Pakistan’s friends are drifting apart. The crux of Indian foreign policy at the moment seems to be national eco**my more than national security, and this precisely is the reason why Modi is being welcomed everywhere.
He said that India’s eco**my under Modi’s stewardship is bringing India closer to Pakistan’s friends while some of our policies are costing us our friends. In a still different segment of the programme, Mufti Muneeb-ur-Rehman, while talking to Shahzeb Khanzada, said that differences over the matter of moon sighting should **t be brought into the public domain.
Mufti Muneeb-ur-Rehman said that he had **t said anything controversial over the matter of moon sighting. Mufti Muneeb-ur-Rehman said that he thanked Mufti Shahabuddin when he (Mufti Muneeb-ur-Rehman) was told that Mufti Shahabuddin had respected the Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee.
He praised the efforts of Federal Minister for Religious Affairs Sardar Muhammad Yousuf and his counterpart in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Hameeduddin. He said that he hopes that the nation celebrates Eid on the same day as well.
A PTI MNA, Khayal Zaman Orakzai, said that the defeat of the PTI in 17 districts during local government election in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa shows the abysmal performance of the provincial government. He said that the province’s administration is in the hands of the opposition.
Khayal Zaman Orakzai said that he and his associates have been struggling to get the manifesto of the PTI implemented. He said only Imran Khan can put the country on the right track.
Former foreign minister Khursheed Kasuri said on the programme that Narendra Modi had cashed in on Pakistan’s stance over Yemen crisis, and he used it to consolidate relations with the Arab countries. Kasuri said that the country must have a regular foreign minister.
