Valuables taken away

PAKPATTAN: Locals were deprived of cash and valuables on Tuesday.

Driver Shafqat Ali and Basharat Ali, employees of a private company, were bringing Rs 190,000 after collecting the amount from shopkeepers. When they reached near Chak 81/EB, two robbers intercepted them and snatched the amount.

Four thieves broke the roof of the house of Manzoor Ahmad of Chak Sohawa Mal and stole cash, cell phones, clothes and other items worth Rs 28,000.

5 POS ESCAPE: Five proclaimed offenders (POs) escaped with the connivance of their accomplices on Tuesday.

On a tip-off police raided Chak 81/D to arrest PO Abdul Jabbar but he escaped with the abetment of Manzoor.

Police tried to arrest PO Siddique of Chak Malikpur, but he ran away due to help of his accomplice Azam.

Police raided Malikpur to arrest PO Qasim Ali but his accomplice Ghulam Murtaza interfered and provided the PO an opportunity to escape.

Police raided Chak Talli to arrest PO Abdul Majid but his accomplice Maqbool Hussain alerted the PO and he escaped.

Police tried to arrest PO Waheed of Chak Talli but his accomplice Yunus alerted him and he escaped.

Police have registered cases.

EXCESSIVE LOADSHEDDING: Locals are suffering excessive loadshedding up to 18 hours in the city and its adjoining areas. The locals are even without drinking water due to loadshedding. They demanded the relevant authorities take **tice of the issue.

MAN KIDNAPPED: A man was kidnapped on Tuesday.

Reportedly, advocate Nasreen Nazeer and her husband Ali Sher visited their shop at Butt Market, Arifwala. Her husband went to Rail Bazaar and did **t come back and his cell phone was found switched off. Nasreen told police that her husband was kidnapped over an enmity. Police have registered case.

LIQUOR RECOVERED: Police Tuesday arrested drug peddlers and recovered liquor from them.

Police arrested accused Mukhtar Ahmad of Chak 15/KB with 20 litres liquor, accused Shahbaz of Chak 82/D with 2.5 litres liquor, accused Muhammad Ahmad of Pir Kot Pakpattan with 250 gram charas, and accused Barkat Ali of Chak 19/SP with a shotgun. Police have registered cases.
