ISLAMABAD: Abdullah M Al-Zahrani, Ambassador of Saudi Arabia, has said that though obligation is the cornerstone in the sacred ritual of fasting (in Ramazan) but this act of worship also reminds us of the fraternal bonds of our faith that binds the fabric of Muslim society.
“As such we must spend this month as an Ummah to reflect and embody the values and practices that were illustrated in the finest way by our beloved Prophet (Peace be upon Him) and his companions, may Allah be pleased with them,” he added. In his message of felicitation at the advent of Holy Month of Ramazan, the Saudi envoy said that the holy month brings together more than one and half million Muslims around the world who observe the ritual of fasting ever since it was decreed upon our beloved Prophet (Peace be upon Him).
“The month of Ramazan invites us to deepen our spiritual connection with Allah Almighty and to improve our relations with our brothers in religion and humanity as a whole,” Ambassador Abdullah M al-Zahrani said, adding Holy Ramazan carries with it the breeze of the Holy Kaabah that soothes the hearts of Muslims turning in supplication to Allah Almighty as they perform Tawaf and establish prayer in the Masjid-ul-Haram.
He said that by the grace of Allah Almighty the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia had consistently served the two Holy Mosques to the best expectations of every Muslim. “We take pride in this solemn service and would continue serving our Muslim brothers as has been our tradition for many centuries. The massive expansion projects undertaken by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in Makkah and Madina mosques and the development of infrastructure to facilitate the shuttling of pilgrims between the two cities is a testament to our unflinching commitment of service to the centers of Islam. The two Holy mosques can **w accommodate millions of Muslims who perform their rituals with ease and comfort,” the ambassador said. “This is my first Ramazan here as Ambassador of Saudi Arabia to Pakistan. Perhaps it is an appropriate moment to mention what I **ticed a sentimental attachment of our Pakistani brothers with the two Holy mosques and their keenness for an opportunity to visit the Sacred House of Allah. In this respect, the Embassy of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and its consulate in Karachi have worked tirelessly to facilitate their journey to the Kingdom to perform Umrah. The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia considers it a duty, an ho**ur and a privilege to serve the guests of Allah,” he said.
He extended his best wishes to Saudi Arabia and Pakistan for their progress and prosperity. He prayed that the two countries’ fraternal ties continued to strengthen and prosper. “On the occasion of this blessed month I wish to convey the greetings of your brothers in Saudi Arabia led by the Custodian of the two Holy mosques King Salman bin Abdul Aziz, Crown Prince Muhammad bin Nayef and Deputy Crown Prince Mohammad bin Salman. I would also like to extend my best wishes to the Pakistani leadership under the guidance of President Mam**on Hussain, and Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, the brave Armed Forces of Pakistan and the Pakistani community in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia,” Ambassador Abdullah M. Al-Zahrani said.
