KOCHI: African-American boxing sensation Muhammad Ali was a man who inspired millions across the globe with his style, swagger and outspoken mentality. The boxing legend's death on Friday shocked the world. As tributes glowed for Ali worldwide, Indian Sports Minister E P Jayarajan made a shocking statement when he paid tribute to Muhammad Ali and said that he was from Kerala and had won several medals for the state!
"I came to k**w only **w that Muhammad Ali had died in America. Ali was a prominent personality in Kerala's sports scenario. He had won several gold medals for Kerala and had taken our state's fame skyhigh.. I wish to convey Kerala's sorrow and the sorrow of the state's sport lovers," he said during the phone-in interview.
Immediately after the statement, Jayarajan was extensively trolled on micro-blogging site Twitter for **t being able to recognize Muhammad Ali, the boxing legend.
