Probe ordered against patwari on pleas of blind brothers

TOBA TEK SINGH: District Coordination ******r (DCO) Amer Ijaz Akbar Saturday directed the District Monitoring ******r to hold an inquiry against a revenue patwari who allegedly made wrong measurement of farmland of two blind brothers for motorway project.
The DCO took the **tice on the pleas of Muhammad Hussain and Farzand Ali against a revenue patwari who made wrong measurement of their farmland acquired by NHA for motorway project.
The DCO also directed the Pirmahal tehsildar to re-measure the farmland to ascertain how much land of the blind brothers had been acquired by the NHA for the motorway.
The farmers stated that their patwari mentioning less than their owned farmland in the record.
The farmers, of Chak 319/GB of Pirmahal, told reporters that their 16.5 Kanal land had been acquired by the NHA but the patwari had mentioned in the record only three kanal land and remaining 13.5 kanal land had been shown in the name of a**ther influential farmer of the area.
They added that the NHA had been paying Rs 2.3 million per acre to land owners and by this rate they were eligible to get Rs 4.7 million as compensation.
