Someone else from the PML-N should be made premier in his
place till PanamaLeaks probe completed
ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan on Saturday said that he was **t demanding Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif’s resignation ahead of a probe into the Panama Leaks as he maintained that Nawaz Sharif had lost the moral grounds to remain the country’s chief executive by telling lies in the National Assembly.
Talking to the media, Imran said that a committee comprising members of the government and the opposition was formulating the Terms of Reference (ToR) for the commission to probe the Panama Papers revelations.
He said that the Panama Papers involved the family of the prime minister adding that **t even a single name could be included in the list of people having offshore companies released by the ICIJ.
In parliament, the PTI chairman said the prime minister should have answered the seven questions raised by the joint opposition.
To a question about the premier’s visit to London for medical checkup, Imran said that he prayed for Nawaz Sharif’s health.
He said that the PTI would soon hold a public rally in Kohat.
Earlier, at a media conference on the joining of PTI by former gover**r of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Iftikhar Hussain, Imran reiterated that the prime minister had ** justification to stay and proposed that someone else from the ruling PML-N should be made premier in his place.
“Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has lost the moral justification to remain prime minister, exactly in the same way of the Iceland prime minister, who took ** time to step down,” the PTI chief pointed out.
Replying to a question, he contended that for **w, he was also **t demanding the resignation of the prime minister, but he had lost the moral justification to remain in ******, after the revelations made in the Panama Papers. “He should name someone else in his place till the investigations are completed into the Panama Leaks, if there is democracy in Pakistan,” he **ted.
He said the ruling PML-N would go down the way the prime minister was conducting himself, instead of explaining to the nation how many taxes he had paid and how was his wealth transferred abroad to set up offshore companies.
Imran also **ted that it was useless for some of the ministers, who were trying to defend the prime minister. “Saying that Imran Khan also owned an offshore company is ** defence with regards to the questions raised by the opposition parties,” he said.
The prime minister, he claimed, was trapped in a marshy land and it would be better for him to respond to the seven questions posed to him by the combined opposition.
