KARACHI: Sindh Information Advisor Moula Bakhsh Chandio has said that the federal government has **t been taking any concrete steps to resolve the serious power issue, causing mi****** to the people.
The Sindh information advisor lashed out at inefficient policies of the federal government to tackle the power crisis in the country while talking to newsmen on Friday on the occasion of The News Education Expo-2016 at the Karachi Expo Centre.
The advisor said that the country, especially the Sindh province, had been facing the worst power crisis, but the state minister for water and power had been indulging in self-pleasure by subjecting smaller provinces to mi******.
He said that villages in the Sindh province had to do without electricity for several days while dwellers of several major cities of the country had to face prolonged instances of power loadshedding.
“Those who camped at the Minar-e-Pakistan during the previous government of the People’s Party while using a hand fan should **w come here and see for themselves the situation in Sindh,” said the advisor while referring to Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif who during the previous PPP government at the centre led a public protest against power crisis in his province.
The advisor said that Benazir Bhutto had initiated several mega-power generation projects but successive governments shelved those projects.
He said that coal reserves in Thar could fulfill energy needs of the country. He said that the Opposition in the country had been left with ** option but to demand prime minister’s resignation.
