PESHAWAR: Armed men attacked the house of former deputy speaker of the
Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly Khushdil Khan in
Badaber in the wee hours of Tuesday.
According to a press release issued by the Capital City Police, an infamous individual Ba**s alias Ba**say along with his seven men attacked the house of Khushdil Khan in Badaber located near Peshawar and escaped after opening fire.
There were reports that the guards and relatives of the former deputy speaker later reacted and attacked the house of Ba**say.
Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Operations Abbas Majeed Marwat along with the Superintendent of Police (Rural) and other
officials visited the area
and held talks with Khushil Khan, who belongs to the Awami National Party and in the past played a role in mobilising the villagers to stand up against the militants in the area.
The Senior Superintendent of Police ordered the Badaber Police to go after the attackers. He also ordered an inquiry into the complaints that the police was backing the accused.
Khushdil Khan had come under attack on a number of occasions in the past after he raised a lashkar against
the militants to counter frequent attacks in Badaber, Matani and Adezai areas a few years back.
