The Nizam-e-Mustafa Conference has strongly condemned the ongoing wave of target-killings in various parts of Pakistan and urged the government to take drastic steps to arrest the gory trend.

In this connection, the conference fully supported the hunger strike being observed here by Majlis Wahdat Muslimeen (MWM), led by its Secretary General Allama Nasir Abbas Jaffary. MWM is a component of Milli Yakjehti Council (MYC), the host of the conference.

The forum flayed the torching of a young girl in Abbottabad recently, dubbing it an un-Islamic and barbaric act and strongly advocated exemplary punishment for the perpetrators. It grilled the government for allegedly putting Kashmir issue on the backburner and **t properly highlighting the Indian role in destabilisation of Pakistan.

The conference adopted a joint declaration at the end, strongly condemning the recent hanging of Jamaat-e-Islami Bangladesh’s ameer Motiur Rehman’s execution, who it **ted, remained member of the parliament there and also served as minister.

The conference, attended by top leadership of mainstream religio-political and religious parties, called on Pakistan to move the International Court of Justice against Bangladesh for violation of the accord signed in 1974. It also urged Islamabad to sever diplomatic ties with Dhaka.

It lauded the Turkish government’s decision to recall its ambassador from Bangladesh as a mark of protest against the execution.

The forum vehemently condemned the seemingly unending bloodshed in Iraq, Syria, Palestine and Yemen and the recent massacre of children, women, old and young in Halab city. It called upon the leading leaders and scholars of top Muslim movements across the globe to play a pro-active role in establishment of unity in Ummah.

The joint declaration castigated the continuous occupation of Qibla-e-Awwal and the latest situation, arising out of the Masjid Aqsa’s occupation by the Zionists and condemned the fresh Jewish settlements on Palestinian land and siege of Gaza. It urged the world community, including Pakistan and the leading human rights organisations to help end Israeli’s atrocities on Palestinians.

The conference demanded of the government to do away with the interest-based eco**my and also take immediate measures to stop media from trampling the nation’s Islamic moorings in the name of culture and shows.

The forum expressed serious concern over India’s cultural invasion and negative influence on Pakistani society, particularly youth.
