A large fireball streaked through the night sky above the **rtheastern United States in the early hours of Tuesday morning, allowing lucky people on the ground to catch sight of the extremely bright cosmic object.
The American Meteor Society (http://www.amsmeteors.org/2016/05/huge-fireball-over-**rtheastern-us/)*(AMS) has received about 330 reports of the fireball seen above Ontario, Massachusetts, Maine, New York, Rhode Island, Pennsylvania and other states on May 17 at about 12:50 a.m. ET.*

Many of the reports appear to be clustered around the Atlantic coast in Maine, according to a map from the AMS (http://www.amsmeteors.org/members/imo_view/event/2016/1750?show_all=true) which shows a best guess for the trajectory of the speeding meteor.* Read more...
