An**unce to stage sit-in tomorrow

PESHAWAR: About 700 ******rs of the Provincial Civil Service cadre went on a pen-down strike, leaving the provincial administration partially dysfunctional on Monday.
Briefing the media at the Civil Secretariat, the association of the provincial cadre civil servants an**unced that their pen-down would continue and they would also stage a sit-in outside the ****** of the chief secretary tomorrow.
Earlier, a meeting of the PCS and Provincial Management Service (PMS) ******rs decided to intensify their strike as the government and high-ups did **t take any **te of their token strike.
Abdullah Mahsud, secretary Auqaf, chaired the meeting.After the meeting, he told reporters that the ******rs discussed the situation that arose following the two symbolic strikes in which PMS and PCS ******rs wore black armbands and observed four-hour pen-down daily.
He said that the symbolic strike went un**ticed that forced them to go for complete pen-down for acceptance of their demands. He said the pen-down strike would continue till the solution to all the issues including posting, promotion and career progression.
The charter of demands distributed to the media by the PCS and PMS ******rs said that there were less than 100 Pakistan Administration Service (PAS) ******rs serving in the province, while the PCS and PMS ******rs serving in the provinces were about 700.
However, the PAS ******rs occupy all the key provincial positions; whereas, the genuine and premier service of the province is marginalised.The charter of demands said that several PCS and PMS ******rs have been victimised through unwarranted inquiries.
It said that the equality must be ensured among the PCS and PAS ******rs in the posting, promotion and other opportunities.It said that the PMS ******rs were discriminated against in postings, promotions and trainings. It said the discrimination should be ended and administrative steps should be taken to safeguard the interests of the provincial service cadre.
The charter of demands said there were more than 90 ******rs on deputation from various federal and provincial departments serving on the PCS and PMS scheduled positions and they should also be repatriated.
