4 soldiers injured in Tirah IED blast

BARA: Four soldiers were injured when an improvised explosive device (IED) exploded on the roadside in Tirah valley of Khyber Agency, official sources said on Monday.
They said the soldiers were on a routine patrol when the blast took place in Nari Baba area in lower Tirah valley. They were reportedly heading for the Kachkol Camp of the security forces. The explosion caused critical injuries to the four soldiers. They were identified as Khalil, Taufeeq, Shahbaz and Bilal. ** militant group has claimed responsibility for the attack so far.

PESHAWAR: Armed men gunned down a doctor in the limits of Faqirabad Police Station on Monday.Police said armed men shot dead one Dr Shah Mohammad of Kurram Agency while on way from home. He was taken to hospital where he succumbed to his injuries. According to Faqirabad Assistant Superintendent of Police Waseem Riaz, the family had an enmity back home in Kurram Agency. “The deceased was aware of the enmity and used to carry loaded pistol,” he said.
Eight kidnapped FDA workers set free

WANA: The unidentified kidnappers in Afghanistan Monday set free the eight Pakistani employees of the Fata Development Authority (FDA) who were received at the Pak-Afghan border by the officials of the political administration of South Waziristan.
Unk**wn persons had kidnapped the eight FDA workers, including project director Atiq Bangash, Ghafoor, Saifur Rehman, Ashiq Hussain, Shahid, Nisar and Faridullah on March 9 when they were inspecting a small dam in Toi Khula in Wana subdivision of South Waziristan.
The kidnappers shifted the hostages to Afghanistan. Subsequently, they set free a geologist Ilyas Khan on April 15. The political administration had arrested 45 tribesmen belonging to the Sulemankhel and Dotani tribes under the collective responsibility clause of the FCR after the incident.

PESHAWAR: In a**ther incident of child abuse, a mi**r boy was reportedly ***ually assaulted by a watchman in Regi on Monday.A resident of Regi told police that his 14-year-old son was ***ually assaulted by a watchman identified as Wakeel hailing from Jamrud.
He added that his son was also kept in illegal custody. Assistant Superintendent of Police Hayatabad Hassan Afzal said that the first information report had been lodged against the accused, who was arrested.
The official said the victim was sent to the Hayatabad Medical Complex for medical examination. A number of incidents of child abuse have been reported in Peshawar and other parts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa over the last few months.
Protesters torch US, Israeli flags

KOHAT: The activists of the Imamia Students Organisation (ISO) on Monday staged protest and torched United States and Israeli flags. They were carrying banners and placards inscribed with slogans against the US and Israel. The protesters gathered at the Kutchehry Chowk to stage the protest. The speakers said that the US had recognised Israel on May 16, 1948. They said after the creation of the Jewish state, it committed brutalities against the Muslims across the globe, particularly Palestine. The protesters also torched the US and Israeli flags.
