So often over the course of Game of Thrones, particularly in the last few years, there has been a feeling of wheel spinning as the show needed to hamper progress, keeping major characters apart and alliances unformed. Yet as Season 6 kicks into gear and presumably the beginning of the show’s ultimate end finally takes shape, however, disparate stories and characters are finally coming together for a consistently thrilling season.

"Book of the Stranger” carries that momentum by hinting at the season’s — and possibly some of the show’s — endgame. And thanks to several sibling reunions and an episode-ending twist, all of which feature the show’s women refusing to sit idly by while the men of Westeros dawdle or stick to what they k**w, “Stranger” also delivers one of the show’s strongest outings in recent memory.
