The publication of the second list of Panama beneficiaries has seen more Pakistanis maintaining offshore companies. There is a strong demand for accountability of all these beneficiaries. But this demand is difficult to meet because their assets are located abroad. Moreover, maybe the majority of assets and the money to buy them were legally taken abroad after paying taxes. But then there is the question of morality. These people have declared their distrust of our eco**my, security or the legal system by transferring their money abroad. While that is **t illegal, it is against our national interests and thus an unpatriotic act. That is why all Pakistanis named in the Panama lists should be barred from holding any political or public ******. It is difficult to adjust globalisation with national interests. Globalisation suits developed countries, but for countries like ours, flight of capital is a drain on the eco**my and drives us backward. We need to prioritise our national eco**my in order to strengthen it and bring it on a par with the world. Ali Ashraf Khan Karachi
