Pakistan signs 75,000 tonne
LPG import deal with Iran
ISLAMABAD: All Pakistan Liquefied Petroleum Gas Distributors Association and National Iranian Company have signed an agreement that entails import of 75,000 tonne LPG within a year.At least 6,000 tonne liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) would be imported from Iran every month for a year, private news channel reported.Association’s President Irfan Khokhar stated that price of imported LPG would be in line with price in the local market. He also said that imported LPG would definitely help curb energy crisis in the country.
Three children burnt alive

SUKKUR: Three children were burnt alive in San. Reports said that in village Batho, fire gutted a hut, killing three-year-old Piyar Ali and his younger brothers, Madad Ali and Qurban Ali. Manzoor Ali, the father of the children, said that he and his wife were in the field when they learnt about the fire incident. They didn’t have a chance to rescue their children.
Alleged militant arrested in Swat

MINGORA: The police arrested an alleged militant at Matta tehsil in Swat on Tuesday, official sources said.They said that acting on tip-off, the police raided a house in Peuchar area in Matta tehsil and arrested an alleged militant identified as Muhammad Shah. He was involved in terrorism related cases in Swat, they added.The police shifted him to an undisclosed location for interrogation.
Seven killed, 33 injured in two Jhang accidents
JHANG: Five people were killed and 10 others injured in a collision between two vehicles near Mari Shah Sakhira on Jhang-Khushab Road. Fifteen people of Wan Bhuchran (Jauharabad) were returning from the shrine of Hazrat Sultan Bahu in a mini-truck when it collided with a truck. As a result, Khurram and his mother Nasreen, Sadia, Maryam and Hayat were killed on the spot while 10 others, including Fatima, Shakila, Dua Fatima, Asim, Waqas, Shoaib, Nasim, Shamim and Nasreen, received injuries. -APPOur correspondent adds: Two men were killed and 23 others injured in a road accident near Mandi Shah Jewana.
Two TTP men held in Mardan

MARDAN: Two members of the outlawed Tehrik-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP), Swat chapter, were arrested after an exchange of fire in Shahbaz Garhi town here on Tuesday, police sources said. The sources said that acting on a tip-off, the police conducted a raid in Gila Kando area and arrested the two suspected militants identified as Khalid Mohammad and Khalid Zaman. They said that the militants opened fire on the policemen. The cops retaliated and apprehended the accused after an exchange of fire. The militants are said to be the members of TTP, Swat chapter. The police recovered two kilogram explosive, 90 feet safety fuse, 10 detonators, 2 pistols and 15 rounds from them. The police handed over the arrested men to the CTD.
‘Search operation to continue in Okara villages’

OKARA: DPO Faisal Rana has said that search operation in various villages, especially along the border, in the district will continue.Talking here on Tuesday, the DPO said that the search operation would continue till complete search of all the villages. The DPO said that the men arrested from the Military Farms Okara (MFO) areas a few days ago were being interrogated. He said the tenants of government lands had lauded and supported the apprehension of criminal elements from their areas.
Attack on Quetta police kills one cop
ISLAMABAD: A policeman was killed and four others were injured in a bomb explosion targeting a police vehicle in the Sariab area of Quetta on Tuesday.The terrorists targeted the police vehicle, which was on a routine patrol. An improvised explosive device (IED) was planted on roadside and detonated when the vehicle passed by, a private news channel reported.The injured were rushed to a hospital.Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif condemned the explosion and prayed to Almighty Allah to bless the departed soul with eternal peace and grant courage to the bereaved family to bear the irreparable loss.Nawaz Sharif also directed the authorities concerned to ensure the best medical treatment to the injured.
