LAHORE: Apropos to the news story titled “ NEPRA told about costly power production by Nandipur Plant ” published in “ The News ” on 27th April 2016, the NTDCL spokesman has clarified about last two paragraphs of the news report and said that merit order is strictly being followed by NTDCL/NPCC for eco**mic dis***** of power.
NTDCL spokesman further clarified that the merit order was prepared by CPPA-G which is in accordance with the **tification issued with the approval of Board of Directors of CPPA-G. Hence, there is ** question of violation of merit order as NTDCL follows the instructions of CPPA-G for the aforesaid purpose.
Khalid Mustafa adds. During the hearing held by Nepra on April 26, the regulator time and again posed the question as to why the NTDC and NPCC are generating costly electricity and why the merit order is **t being adhered to?
The top functionaries during the hearing could **t come up with the satisfactory answers owing to which the Nepra posed a**ther question saying if there is pressure from the ministry to generate electricity from the Nandipur power plant which produces the costly electricity, but the said officials opted to remain silent on this very issue.
The, Nepra warned of strict action against the NTDC and NPCC for further breach of the merit order. This correspondent stands by his story.
