Geek book of the week: Like 'Silicon Valley,' but for real

The HBO comedy Silicon Valley made a welcome return to our screens Sunday. Once again, it offered only slightly satirized versions of the all-too-real shenanigans in tech land.*
In this case (spoiler alert!) a startup founder is demoted by his own board, from CEO to CTO, and considers switching to a company that puts virtual mustaches on video feeds.*
Dan Lyons, **w a writer for Silicon Valley, felt that same sickly sensation when he was downsized from Newsweek in 2013. He'd been the tech editor. Needing to feed his family, and, more to the point, wanting to cash in on the tech world he'd been reporting on for years, he decided to join an online marketing company called HubSpot, where he'd be a producer of what is best described as #content.
