ISLAMABAD: The Supreme Court on Wednesday observed that the country’s health sector will need the oxygen mask if **thing was done to improve it.
This observation came during the hearing of a suo moto case by a three-member bench concerning the death of a person at the Punjab Institute of Cardiology, Lahore. Acting Chief Justice Mian Saqib Nisar headed the bench.
Justice Nisar stressed the need for improving the health sector saying that poor people could **t think of getting better health facilities. He said the apex court’s priority was to protect life, meaning a healthy life. He said the instant case was directly related to human life.
He said it was the fundamental right of every citizen to have better medical facilities and hence the court will have to protect their fundamental rights. Justice Khilji Arif Hussain called for revamping the health sector adding that a poor person could **t imagine having better medical facilities at affordable rates.
