LAYYAH: Police on Tuesday conducted raid and arrested five accused including factory owner after death toll from toxic sweets in Layyah climbed to 26.
Police said, on a tip-off, police raided Sulfonylurea factory located at Chowk Azam and arrested the owner and four others.
Police also seized huge quantity of prohibited Sulfonylurea and sealed off the factory.
The accused have been shifted to undisclosed location.
At least 26 people have died so far after eating toxic mixed sweets in Layyah on April 20. over 20 others also still admitted in the hospital.
