On Monday, some of the country's largest record companies, including Universal Music Australia, Warner Music Australia and SonyMusic Entertainment Australia, an**unced they would be seeking to have (https://www.comcourts.gov.au/file/Federal/P/NSD545/2016/actions) the site KickassTorrents and proxy sites blocked in Australia.

The labels are able to take the legal action thanks to an amendment to the Copyright Act (http://mashable.com/2015/06/22/australia-site-blocking-bill/) passed in 2015.
