Planmed’s Clarity 3D and 2D Breast Imaging Systems Cleared in Europe

Planmed (Helsinki, Finland) won the European CE Mark for its*Planmed Clarity 3D digital breast tomosynthesis system and the Planmed Clarity 2D full field digital mammography system. The 3D system creates a volumetric representation of the breast allowing physicians to visualize it from different angles, and the company believes its tech**logy produces higher quality images than the competition that can help spot lesions with more ease.
The Clarity 2D is a digital mammography system that can be upgraded to the 3D version at a later time, depending on the needs of the clinic.
Touch screens on both sides of the device provide easy access to the controls during patient preparation. Radiation dose management options help reduce patient exposure to just what’s needed to perform each exam.
