'Game of Thrones'-inspired Indian TV soap promo goes viral for all the wrong reasons

Indian television soap Sasural Simar Ka (translated as Simar's in-laws' home) was so inspired by the Game of Thrones that it decided to lift the entire The Hall of Faces sequence from the fantasy drama.

The spooky Hall of Faces houses the heads of dead characters mounted on walls, and has featured in Season 5 and the trailer for the forthcoming Season 6. The makers of Sasural Simar Ka, a popular supernatural family drama about two sisters who get married to two brothers from the Bharadwaj family, decided to create a similar setting in a forthcoming episode.
