Internet wins: Australian streaming music revenue doubles in one year

The Australian music industry, like many others, is going through severe growing pains. Thanks to the Internet, sales of traditional physical media like CDs have declined, and streaming platforms including Spotify and Apple Music are **w the dominating force.
That's why the*Australian Recording Industry Association's (ARIA) 2015 wholesale figures came as something of a surprise. Rather than being harbingers of doom, the group reported a 5 percent increase in the value of Australia's recorded music industry in 2015 to A$333.8 million.
