'Once Upon a Time' gave a dark twist to the 'Beauty and the Beast' we all k**w

Beauty and the Beast may be a tale as old as time, but Sunday night, Once Upon a Time showed us their take on the tale, which is decidedly quite darker than the original.
In flashbacks, we learned that Gaston was considerably more charming than his beefcake Disney persona but still didn’t win over Belle’s heart fair and square. At one point — in her pre-Rumplestiltskin days — she even started to warm up to him, but all bets (and courting) were off after he lied to her and tortured an in**cent ogre.
